Over Thanksgiving break we traveled to Eureka to see family. One of our most exciting times was on our way home when we stopped at Moonstone Beach. I told Kelly that we just had to stop because it is a rare occasion when the sun shines in Eureka...even more exciting when there isn't fog! So, we stopped and it was quite an adventure. There were other people enjoying the beautiful beach and some brave enough to "skin board" on the wet sand. But, very suddenly waves rolled in and Kelly jokingly said to me, "don't get your feet wet!" I turned around to realize just how fast the water was coming in and Kelly and I quickly had to grab both of the girls and run for the car. The tide came in so quickly that it swept one girl off her feet and threw her onto the shore and another little boy also lost his grip and his dad was chest deep in water trying to walk him back to the shore! It was scary, but exciting to see the power of the ocean! From that point on, Kaleena was terrified that the water would get her, so pictures were difficult. Several times on the way home she would way, "that water was too deep for me! That was dangerous for me!" But Emi, as always, has no fear and loved every minute of our beach experience, especially since she created a huge mess in the sand! After all, it was Emi's first time at the beach!
